Who we are
Jonginenge is based at Nahoon Beach in the Nahoon Point and Estuary Nature Reserve, East London. For more than 20 years, founder Dean Knox and his team have taken learners, teachers and companies out of their comfort zones and into rock pools, dunes, estuaries and surf — learning by discovery.
Every outing weaves in the ocean: its food chains, its threats, its plastic problem and what we can do about it. Dean is an active voice for the coast and its creatures in the Eastern Cape, and that care runs through everything Jonginenge does.
Our team is made up of a qualified teacher, lifeguards, surf instructors and Jonginenge guides with level 3 first aid training. Safety isn't a slogan — it's a 20-year record.
