Learners rotate between different activities
in small groups. A professional lifeguard teaches learners
about beach and sun safety. Learners encounter living prawns,
hermit crabs, pencil bait and other creatures. Each group
makes a pictograph based on the number of different shells
in a collection. Groups are taken on a short canoe trail under
lifeguard supervision (lifejackets are also worn). Story sequencing
cards are used to teach children about the problem of pollution.
There is also a chance to swim and play some throwing games.
